VCC has established, maintains, and implements an Environmental Management System to improve its environmental management and, ultimately, to reduce the environmental impacts of its operations, activities, products, and services. Within the framework of our Environmental Management System we commit to:
- Provide a safe and healthful workplace and ensure that personnel are properly trained and have appropriate safety and emergency equipment.
- Be an environmentally responsible neighbor in the communities where we operate and act promptly and responsibly to correct incidents or conditions that endanger health, safety, or the environment.
- Participate in efforts to improve environmental protection and understanding around the world.
- Conserve natural resources by reusing and recycling materials, purchasing recycled materials, and using recyclable packaging.
- Ensure the responsible use of energy throughout our business, including conserving energy and giving preference to renewable over non-renewable energy sources when feasible.
- Develop, manufacture, and market products that are safe for their intended use and that can be reused, recycled or disposed of safely.
- Encourage suppliers, vendors, and business partners to be environmentally responsible.
- Meet or exceed all applicable government requirements and voluntary requirements to which we subscribe.
- Strive to continually improve our Environmental Management System and performance, and periodically issue progress reports to our stakeholders.
- Conduct rigorous audits and self-assessments of our compliance with this policy and measure progress of VCC's environmental affairs performance.
This policy will be communicated to all persons working for – or on behalf of – VCC, and is available to the public.
